Windows 10 2004 still recommends classic Edge over Chrome, Firefox

Microsoft wants Windows 10 users to keep using Edge as the default web browser application and that’s quite understandable behavior, isn’t it? However, what’s actually surprising the most is that Windows 10 2004 still recommends its classic, non-Chromium Edge browser known as Edge Legacy over Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, and despite already setting the new Edge as the default browser, Techtsp has spotted.

Windows 10 recommends classic Edge over Chrome

On our Windows 10 2004 machine, we have set the new Chromium-based Edge as the default web browser application. However once in a while, when opening outbound links in WhatsApp for Windows 10, the operating system randomly prompts us to decide whether or not we want to keep using Edge, and that’s absolutely fine, we guess.

But if you look at the above screenshot, Windows 10 still recommends its classic, non-Chromium Edge browser over some of the other web browsers installed such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. We still don’t know what’s exactly causing these random prompts in spite of the new Chromium-powered Edge being the default web browser application on our Windows 10 2004 machine.
