Edge reminds Flash will no longer be supported after December 2020


The new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge is now sending reminders that Flash will no longer be supported after December 2020.

“By the end of 2020, we will remove the ability to run Adobe Flash in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer across all supported versions of Microsoft Windows. Users will no longer have any ability to enable or run Flash,” Microsoft explains.

Edge reminder also allows users to disable Flash support for the web browser.

Adobe Flash player End of Life date is near

Adobe will put an end to the distribution of its Flash player by the end of the year 2020. As a result, Adobe Flash player will no longer receive updates or remain functional after December 31, 2020.

Adobe Flash Player was introduced in 1996

Adobe Flash Player enabled users to view multimedia contents and stream audio and video on Internet Explorer and Firefox web browsers in the absence of web standards that execute rich Internet applications on their own.
